On Saturday, October 20th, two of Connecticut's most extraordinary chefs will be preparing a farm-to-table feast here at Rosedale Farms & Vineyards, as part of "vie for the kids" annual fundraising effort to help children who are battling cancer and other life threatening blood disorders at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. It will feature an extravagant menu using the finest meats and produce from local Connecticut farms. There will also be a 6K Run/Walk that Saturday morning through the beautiful woods of Ethel Walker School in Simsbury.
"Vie for the kids" was created by Paul Shapiro and Susan Anderson, owners of Vie, a Simsbury based national company that helps sales organizations compete at a higher level of excellence. The event is in its fifth year and has become one of the signature fundraisers for Connecticut Children's.
Last year, vie for the kids helped to raise more than $100,000 for Connecticut Children's.
For more information including purchasing tickets, donations, sponsorship, or to register for the 6K Run/Walk please visit vieforthekids.com.
We're honored to have been selected as this month's featured vineyard by CT Wine Trail, and to celebrate we're offering a special price of our Farmington River Red. Regularly sold at $19.99/bottle you can now pick up our award-winning wine for $16.99/bottle. This year’s Farmington River Red is 100% old vine California Petite Sirah, harvested specifically for us by the Lanza Family Vineyards in California’s Suisun Valley. Its sensuous earthy nose is followed by herb laced plum, wild berry and sage flavors with a hint of cedar and soft, round tannins. Enjoy the long, smoky finish.
Still thirsty? You can also purchase cases (12 bottles) of Lou's Red for $199, Famington River Red for $175, and Simsbury Celebration for $150 throughout October. For the complete tasting notes visit Our Wines.
